Maryfield Memorial Hospital
In December of 1967, the provincial government decided, unilaterally, to withdraw operating grants to the Maryfield Union Hospital effective August 1, 1968.  After the closure of the hospital, the village went into a major decline, in population and in services.  Never before had the community worked together with such single purpose as in it's fight to retain it's Hospital.
